Acworth, N.H. 9/15/09: Publisher George Geers of Plaidswede Books in Concord said this week that Fritz’ book is out.
The book, like Fritz’ other books, is a collection of Granite State stories. The new one is entitled, “In Good Company”.
The cover features bobble-head dolls from the New Hampshire Historical Society Gift Shop plus a bobble-head of Fritz. The dolls are of John Stark, Franklin Pierce, Sarah Josepha Hale, and Daniel Webster.
Good company, indeed.
This is the fifth book that Fritz has published through Plaidswede. Like the others, this book features stories which Fritz has presented in the segment he does nightly in New Hampshire Chronicle program on WMUR-TV.
“With this book I have published more than six-hundred stories about our state,” Fritz said. “I hope to get to a thousand stories before I’m done.”
That would mean at least three more books, eight in all. “And every story has a New Hampshire connection,” Fritz said.

A who's who says where to go

FRITZ WETHERBEE,
‘‘New Hampshire Chronicle’’ contributor
Wetherbee is a bit of a self-confessed homebody when it comes to heading out during the holidays. But he’s not too much of a Scrooge. This is also the man who, along with his brother Robbie, wrote some original Christmas music for a WMUR-TV special a few years back.
His favorite place to go when it’s time to head out with friends? Strawbery Banke in Portsmouth.
‘‘I love to do the Candlelight Stroll, to get really dressed up and visit all the historic homes and drink in the Christmas spirit and then have a Shirley Temple Black [a rum-based Manhattan with a bit of cherry juice] at the bar at the Black Trumpet down by the tugboats,’’ he says.
‘‘And finish off the evening with a chili dog at Gilley’s.’’ www.strawberybanke.org, 603-433-1107, adults $18, children $8, family pass $38. Dec. 5-6, 12-13, and 19-20, 4-9 p.m.
